LAS VEGAS – A year after the passing of Philippine Comedy King Dolphy, his children, along with Zsazsa Padilla, Nicole, and Zia were reunited once again this time in one of Pidol’s favorite destinations—the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.
“He really loved Vegas and had so many happy memories here,” Dolphy’s widow Zsazsa Padilla said. “The fact that my family was here, he loved the hotes, and everything in Vegas is open 24 hours. Bellagio—not that he would play.”
“Well, we see each other in Manila but it’s very rare that we see our brothers in Burbank and New Jersey and all be together,” Eric Quizon said.
“We are spending a lot of time with the Padilla side of our family here in Las Vegas, so it’s nice to see the Quizons too,” Zia Quizon said.
Zsazsa said Las Vegas was home to Dolphy not only because of the neon lights, but because it offered the best of the best in the world in terms of stage shows and the international fare from notable restaurants and buffets in Sin City.
“I’m don’t plan on going to his favorite places because it would be too sad,” Zsazsa said.
“Last Christmas was the first Christmas that we were without our dad,” Epi Quizon said. “This Christmas he’s back—but joins all of us in a virtual version.”
When Padilla is asked about Dolphy’s National Artists recognition, she said: “I’m really so proud. Hopefully it will happen. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
