Filipino-American hoopers are breaking basketball records, training for bigger courts

Another milestone for basketball star Jordan Clarkson.

The Fil-Am guard Clarkson broke the Cleveland Cavaliers’s record for most bench points in a season last Friday night.

The record was previously held Campy Russell, who scored 1,211 points off the bench in the 1975 season.

Despite not being a starter, Clarkson’s 17 points per game has led the team in scoring this season.

He has scored a total of 1,240 points, with 8 more games left this season.

Meanwhile looking ahead to the future, homegrown hero Kai Sotto has finally made a decision.

The 7’2, 16 year old shared to his fans and the basketball world that he has decided to leave the Philippines, and pursue his NBA dream elsewhere to train full time.

There have been reports that Sotto has standing offers from European clubs in Spain and Germany.

Sotto said he’s making it his goal to focus 100% on training and development to make it to the NBA in 2021 or 2022.

Speaking of another Pinoy in the NBA, a shoe-in to make the league soon is Fil-Am Jalen Green.

The high school junior was back in the Philippines this past week joining the national basketball training camp all-star again, showing off his skills and high flying jams to wow his Pinoy fans and countrymen.

Jalen shared with Abs-Cbn News his excitement for his development he had this past season.

As Jalen comes back from his stint in Manila, he’s set to get busy in the AAU circuit and will move from San Joaquin in Fresno to prolific prep school in Napa to prepare him better for college, and eventually the NBA.
