Winnipeg Filipinos hold ‘Tala for Taal’ dance challenge to help victims of Taal volcano eruption

WINNIPEG — Filipinos have turned a current trend into a cause-worthy event. Winnipeg may be one of Canada’s coldest cities, but despite the chilly weather, many Filipinos stepped out to perform a dance challenge that’s sweeping the Philippines.

But the flash mob was not entirely just for fun and entertainment, it was for a great cause–organizers encouraged participants to bring cash donations for fellow Filipinos devastated by Taal volcano’s recent eruption.

The hundreds of dollars raised during the “Tala Para sa Taal” dance challenge will be sent to ABS-CBN Foundation, which is currently conducting relief operations for Taal evacuees.

Rhia Alcantara tells us about “Tala para sa Taal” in one of the coldest cities in Canada.
