NEW YORK — Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Wil Dasovich took home the Vlogger of the Year award at the Shorty Awards in New York on Sunday.
It’s like the Oscars of social media — honoring the best content producers and royalties of the web.
“I really wanted to win just so I could meet Casey Neistat, 2 and a half years ago, the first time I ever even heard the word vlog was Casey Neistat,” Dasovich shared. “I just graduated in college and I was just like what is this, I wanted to do this, it’s so much fun.”
The Shortys came after the Fil-Am’s months-long battle with stage 3 colon cancer, while more than a million of his subscribers watched him vlog on YouTube.
“It means the world, we’ve been through a lot, it was really hard, we’ve been through a lot to get to this point and I’m just happy that my entire gang, the entire squad is here.”
The Filipino vlog squad came in full force to support Dasovich, including the loves of his life.
