VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — After covering communities with ash and displacing about 125,000 people in Batangas and neighboring towns in the Philippines, authorities said Taal volcano has had a decline in activity — and its alert status could be lowered to level 1 if this continues.
But with many affected residents still struggling to return to their devastated communities, many Filipino Americans abroad have made it their mission to help — including this group of Batanguenos from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
