Victorious Jerwin Ancajas agrees Sultan is a deserving challenger
LOS ANGELES — The “Pretty Boy” lived up to hype of his US debut. IBF junior bantamweight Champion Jerwin Ancajas knocked out Israel Gonzales in ten rounds to defend his world title.
“Masaya po kami sa team ko kasi maganda Yung resulta Ng laban hindi naman akalain matapos sa 10,” said Ancajas.
Co-Promoted by MP Promotions, shortly after the victory Ancajas got a congratulatory Instagram post from his boss Manny Pacquiao.
He got more praise as he returned to Los Angeles from Texas, from a few fans and friends that came to greet him.
“Buong experience po masaya naman po kasi talagang total support Yung team ko lalo na sila Coach.”
His victory now puts him in line to defend his belt against a fellow Filipino.
ALA Promotions Jonas Sultan is the IBF’s mandatory challenger.
While he had no immediate plans for his next fight, the 26-year old admits that Sultan is a deserving contender.
“Depende po sa kanila anong Plano po. Ok Lang naman din po kasi opportunity naman ni Sultan po kasi nag number 1 sya//deserve nya nag Ano po din sya nag sikap mag number 1.”
Ancajas will leave for the Philippines on Monday night, where he plans on getting at least a couple weeks of rest.
