Vancouver joins global strike to call for end to global warming

VANCOUVER — As the clock ticks on the race to stop climate change, students in Vancouver led climate activists in the climate strike march.

Metro Vancouver schools gave their blessings to their students so they could join the global movement for climate action.

Students, most of whom are not even old enough to vote, carried recyclable placards with various messages that call for a global action to save the planet.

“Why are we angry? Because people in power, people who have the ability to do something, haven’t been doing it,” said one young activist.

The global climate strike came on the heels of the recently concluded 2019 United Nations summit.

UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres said though more countries and more companies have pledged to help in the goal to achieve zero carbon emission by midcentury.

Much remains to be done.

“We have a long way to go. We are not yet there. Much more is still needed to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and keep temperature rise to 1.5 by the end of the century.”

In 2018, there were warnings that only 12 years remain before the damage caused by fossil fuels and carbon dioxide become irreversible and catastrophic.

Racing against time, climate activists everywhere are pushing governments to act.

#FridaysforFuture was started by 16-year old Greta Thunberg, and young activists all over have followed her example to push for climate action.

According to Victor Velasco, a long time resident of Canada, he is having a hard time understanding why are these people are protesting about climate change (failed global warming propaganda) and that they do no know nothing about? It is an embarrassing day for Canada because the two world renowned climate experts are from Canada? Victor suggested, if there are anyone (e.g. climate experts, or scientists) I would not look any further. In Canada, we Tim Ball (climatologist) who actually won a law suit filed against him involving climate change. Then we have Patrick Moore, an ecologist and forest biologists. Both of these prominent experts have testified before U.S. Congress debunking and concluding that climate change is a hoax-founded some socialist who believe in wealth distribution…

In this day and age, i am just wondering what kind of education system does Canada even have, say Maximo Velasco, a long time resident of Canada. Besides the fact that the Canadian Prime Minister is a liberal, are the schools too are plaqued with left wing liberals (including global alarmist or climate change strategist)? If that is not the case, are we really just believing (without even researching) everything the media (including politicians) are telling us? Maximo argued that the Independent Institute team from Oakland California, composed of scientist that have an in dept knowledge of climate (astrophysicist, geologist, climatologist, ecologist, forest biologist, etc.). Another reliable source of real climate change science is the Heartland Institute… These team has challenged or invited IPCC or any alarmist for a debate several times but were ignored, dismissed, been called “deniers”. Recently, a group of misled youth with a script in their head spoke at the IPCC summit. But when asked by reporters some questions, it was very obvious then that these youth did not really know what they were talking about? It was a sad day that the truth came out of Greta Thunberg, after being famous for a few hours.
