Vancouver community brings care packages to vulnerable Filipinos amid the pandemic

VANCOUVER — Vinelli Rumbaua, one of the three sisters behind the event planning group “The Power of Three” thought of helping vulnerable Filipinos who are finding it difficult to buy food and other basic goods in this time of social distancing and self-isolation.

So she started buying groceries to put in packages.

But knowing this won’t be enough, she also started a GoFundMe campaign so more people can pitch in.

“I couldn’t imagine how a senior person or a single parent would go through lining up outside, waiting in the cold, or waiting, for how long, and I just wanted to do something.”
