US State Department actively considering PH request for TPS

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The Philippines’ request for temporary protected status in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda is making progress, according to the US Department of State.

In an emailed statement to Balitang America, the State Department’s press officer Pooja Jhunjhunwala said that the department is actively considering the Philippines’ request for TPS.

Jhunhunwala also said that they will provide their views to the Department of Homeland Security.

Section 244 of the Immigration and Nationality Act gives the secretary of Homeland Security the authority to make TPS designations in consultation with the State Department and other government agencies, and it outlines the criteria for doing so.

A TPS recommendation is now at the desk of Secretary John Kerry for his final review and signature.

I really wonder if ,( that is If ), the TPS is granted , how many of those one million Illegal Pilipinos are really from Tacloban and affected in that disaster. My bet is, every Illegal will lie to get the permission to stay.
It will result to a bunch of liars. another crime they will commit , forgery .

That’s why they request for TPS it means not only from tacloban can get TPS but for all filipino who have relatives and friends who suffer the tragedy. So DELIA are you a filipino,? Thats the problem to us instead of helping each other we always make comment with a non sense.. NAKAKAAWA KA.

@Pat, dont bring that BS being Filipino , that has nothing to do with doing something right . If you can not understand the problem , then your part of the problem . Criminal act is Criminal act , you cant wash that out . Once a person can get away with one crimes , some more will follow , because they got away with the first one.

Some Filipinos like to posture as the ( “compassionate” ) ones, but the reality is that most are Thieves and Aggressors .

We are all brothers and sisters. God Bless You iha!
@Delia I hope and pray that it will be granted, para makatulong tayo sa kapwa natin Filipino at mas maganda kasi sa tao ay natutuwa sila pag magandang nangyayari sa kapwa nila Filipino at hindi pansariling kapakanan lamang. I pray to God to forgive you for the allegations you made to your countrymen.

Sir Mr Juan Dela Cruz , Does it not bother you that this Illegals are commiting a crime ? Yes i am very happy for Filipinos that search for a good life , but it need to be done the right way , In what instances that you think God will not forgive me and you need to be praying for me ? Is doing the right thing wrong for God this days? I have million questions why would you even insert God in this segment . Mr dela Cruz i did not make allegation to any particular one , I stated , this people got in the country illegally , which is crime itself already , then , they will follow up with another forgery lies , is’nt that true and not an allegations ?

Mr.dela Cruz , i would appreciate coming from you, if you lead people to do right , not to condon bad stuff because it will be you who need forgiveness rather than me . If you can not understand the point then you should not be making a statement.

For Miss Delia and those anti Illegal Filipinos, for your info, there’s no need to be from Tacloban as long as u r a Filipino to be granted a TPS. Those Filipinos who entered the US illegally are not criminals. They did it to support their families back home. Nagkapapel Lang kayo para na kayong Amerkano at wala ng concern sa kapwa Filipino na illegal at sa mga biktima ni Yolanda sa Pinas.
