United Playaz keeps guns off the streets with local buyback program

SAN FRANCISCO — These are just a few of the 244 guns and 7 assault rifles that were turned in at the latest gun buyback program at the United Playaz headquarters in downtown San Francisco.

One of those guns was personally destroyed by former convict and now community leader, Damien Posey.

Living on both sides of the gun, pulling robberies and surviving five gunshots, Posey knows how much damage one gun can do.

Following the buy-back, United Playaz will receive the destroyed weapons and will partner with the Poblete Foundation to create art projects made from the weapon parts.
