REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A manhunt over the weekend in Ohio ended Monday in the arrest of an undocumented Filipino man who reportedly shot to death three men during a shooting spree inside a bar.

Police say Igmidio Mista, 33, opened fire inside the Last Call Bar in Fremont, Ohio.

Off-duty Elmore police officer Jose Andy Chavez, who was celebrating his birthday, was shot and killed.

Bartender Ramiro Sanchez and customer Daniel Ramirez also died.

Mista reportedly got into an argument with the off-duty police officer’s unidentified wife. He ended up punching the woman in the face.

Witnesses say Mista then left the bar, but returned through a side door and began shooting.

Witnesses say he had no particular target, but was just aiming his gun at anybody inside the bar.

After fleeing the scene of the crime, police conducted a manhunt for Mista through the weekend.

He was arrested by police Monday morning at the home of his relative.

Mista was arrained Monday on three murder charges. No plea was entered.

His preliminary hearing is set on March 20.

Mista is reportedly a Filipino national with an expired US visa.

That’s why we have immigration laws. To legally migrate a complete background investigation and health screening has to be done. So undesirables are kept out

Just imagine if you grant blanket amnesty..

@filam…… But there are more hard core criminals committing this kind of heinous act by legal immigrants.

Excuse me, a string of violence of Pinoys in America? When was the last time that a Pinoy was publicized to create such violence. Cunanan was the last time I remember and that was many, many moons ago. This guy is an exception. So stop fomenting bad things about Filipinos. And if you are one then you are an embarrassment to our race.

Hands down, your character that you so honestly portray here on BA by posting hateful, degrading, dishonest comments, being too grossly critical of the POTUS, the vulnerable members of the society and your Filipino kababayans has to be the most ungrateful I have read so far… No one can top you, Delia…

i myself onetime was a victim of fraud too by a fellow PInoy, but that didnt change my perception sa mga Pinoy, its about learning a lesson, though i learned it in a hard way, so my advise is kailangan mag iingat ka talaga sa pagpili ng babarkadahin mo, its just saddening that those people brought their bad practice from Philippines to the US or sakit na siguro nila yun manlamang ng kapwa….btw those issues are very common in CA, NY and NJ

we have got to look at the bright side of life. pinoys have their own unique ways of doing things. we are a happy, smiley and friendly nation, truly blessed with beautiful natural geographical settings rich in natural resources where you can travel thru air, land and seas. it is truly more fun in the philippines. woof, woof, woof….
