LAWNDALE, CA — 22-year-old Reymart Gaballo of General Santos City is looking for win number 22.
The undefeated Sanman fighter, who boasts a 21-and-0 record with 18 knockouts, arrived in Los Angeles this week, to prepare for an August 31st bout in Minnesota.
“I’m so excited for this fight. This is my first time to come back here in USA again.”
Gaballo has previously fought in Miami, Hawaii, and Mexico.
Last year, he also handed previously unbeaten Stephon Clark his first career loss.
“THE ASSASSIN’S” opponent on August 31st will be 25 year old Mexican Antonio Pedroza who has a record of 13 wins, 9 losses and 2 draws.
“I will do my best po sa ano laban ko talaga. Papakita ko talago ng meren ko sa boxing na yung talent ko, kung talent and skills ko, ma improve ko pa, tsaka na kailala ko ang bang Pilipino dito.”
His fight nights usually don’t last long. 16 of Gaballo’s 18 knockouts have come in the first or second round.
“For now my plan is like I want to stay focused on my fight. Hindi ako nag mamadali sa fight kung baga inisip ko talaga bawat lumaban sa ring, abot talaga ka taposin ng round namin so I’m not hoping every time make timber ako ang kalaban ko.”
And while he may be new to the US fight scene, he’s got a friend in camp, training alongside fellow sandman fighter Romero Duno.
