LOS ANGELES – After a ten-month layoff, the Filipino Wrecking Machine Mark Munoz suffered a tough loss at the UFC184 preliminary on Saturday against Brazilian Roan Carniero.
At 1:40 into the first round, Carniero managed to slip a rear choke hold on the much bigger Munoz.
“I got the right moment when I saw he gave the back to me when I saw the choke I saw the opportunity and then I take it,” recalled the Brazilian.
Munoz passed out while he was in the choke hold and was surrounded by medical staff after the match before leaving the ring on his own.
“He passed out in my arms and I called the ref and he took a couple seconds but the ref should’ve stopped the fight before,” explained Carniero.
This loss now marks his third straight defeat. While Munoz did not show up to the post fight press conference, he tweeted on Sunday morning, thanking his fans and saying that he will rest, keep working, and see what’s next.

The match lasted 14 seconds as “Rowdy” took advantage of the “Alpha Cat’s” opening charge and forced her to tap out with an arm bar.
Earlier this week, Rousey said she was hoping to catch the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather mega fight, but needed to win first.
“Probably will. I definitely want to go. I’m going to that fight for sure,” Rousey told Balitang America after her victory.
When asked who she’s picking, “Pacquiao, has been very very nice to me so I gotta root for him,” she added.
Rousey may not have to spend for those Pacquiao-Mayweather tickets after all, Bob Arum recently told TMZ that he is a big fan of Rousey and will definitely try to hook her up with tickets.
