Trump reportedly plans to roll back deportation protections for families of U.S. troops

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to eliminate a program called Parole in Place — which protects family members of active-duty troops from being deported.

According to NPR, some immigration lawyers say their clients, undocumented wives and relatives of deployed soldiers, have been told that protection is “being terminated,” and will only be available under rare circumstances.

The lawyers also say this will impact the troops — who will not be able to focus on their military jobs when they’re concerned about the possibility that their family members will be deported.

The Trump administration has not issued an official statement on this rollback plan.
