WASHINGTON DC — Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country were in Washington D.C. on Friday for the annual March For Life rally.
And this year, the anti-abortion supporters got a big support.
“It is my profound honor to be the first president in history to attend the March For Life.”
Anti-abortion rights supporters have been Trump’s key political supporters, and his administration has proposed regulations to restrict abortion access.
“I notified Congress that I would veto any legislation that weakens pro-life policies or that encourages the destruction of human life.”
But Fil-Am Jeff Coleman, who took a long bus ride from Pennsylvania with his daughter, told us that this is not just about politics.
“I think one of the most surprising thing is if you look around, this is a young dynamic audience. Very very few people over the age of 40. I’m over 40. Most of the people under the age of 40. And it’s diverse, people from all over the country. The thing that’s most special about this is that there’s love and compassion and kindness, not condemnation for people who are considering abortion.”
Previous polls have shown that 58 percent of American adults say abortion should be legal in most or all cases.
It has also remained one of the most divisive issues in the country.
