REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Trader Joe’s is recalling some popular summer fruits supplied by a company in California over possible Listeria contamination
The grocer is removing certain peaches, nectarines, plums, and a plum-apricot hybrid – known as plumcots or pluots – from its shelves.
They are dated between June 2 and July 18.
There are no reported cases of illness, but Trader Joe’s says it is removing the products out of “extreme caution”.
Customers are urged not to eat the produce and to throw it away, or return it for a full refund.
Trader Joe’s is not the only store to sell the produce.
It is packaged by Wawona Packing, which has issued a nationwide recall.
