Another incident of gun violence in America — this time in Jersey City, home to the largest Filipino population in New Jersey.
At least six people are dead following a shootout between two gunmen and police officers on Tuesday afternoon at a store in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Bidwell Avenue — about two miles away from Filipino business establishments, prompting several schools in the area to go on lockdown for several hours.
Police on radio scanners could be heard saying two shooters, a man and a woman, each carrying long guns, went inside a supermarket and that pipe bombs were found in a van they used.
Three civilians and one police officer have died, including the gunmen.
President Trump has been briefed and was monitoring the situation.
