REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – They came. They saw. They enjoyed the Filipino Channel’s One Kapamilya Go! coast-to-coast shows.
This is the sixth year of One Kapamilya Go! and this is the biggest, most star-studded yet—with a power line-up that includes “The Voice of the Philippines” Top 4, with their coaches, Broadway star Lea Salonga and rocker Bamboo.
Sultry singer Yeng Constantino also brought the house down, along with comedienne’s Vivieka and Tart. Fans simply went crazy over Kapamilya stars Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador and Cristine Reyes. They simply could not get enough of the hottest teleserye tandem on television today, Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria—more popularly known as Ser Chief and Maya.
“We want to thank all of you for watching us every day, for supporting our show, ‘Be Careful with My Heart’,” Sta. Maria said.
“Our words can never fully express how grateful we are to all of you,” Yap added.
Before these Kapamilya stars entertained fans at California’s Great America in Santa Clara, Calif. on Sunday, they brought so much joy to thousands of fans at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Friday night.
“The show was great!” one fan exclaimed. “We want more!”
“It was wonderful, a once-in-a-lifetime event,” another fan said.
“It was so worth it,” another chimed in. “We can’t wait until the next one.”
For many of the Kapamilya stars who gave their all, it was all a night to remember.
“We are so happy that they are happy,” Constantino said. We also enjoyed being here because they have been so good to us.”
“I’d like to give a shout out to everybody here who watched, who voted, who supported ‘The Voice of the Philippines’, who made it such an incredibly huge hit for ABS-CBN and TFC,” Salonga expressed to the audience. “Thank you so much for welcoming our top four. This is the first time that four of them together have performed outside of the Philippines. Thank you for your warm welcome.”
“Be Careful with My Heart” fans also got to meet and greet their idols.
“Ser Chief is so handsome!” one fan exclaimed.
“Thank you so much for coming here! We love you so much!,” another fan said.
Newark Mayor and now Senator-Elect Cory Booker also proclaimed Oct. 18 One Kapamilya Go! Day in the city.
“I urge residents and employees and visitors in the city of Newark to join me in this special tribute,” Booker cited in the proclamation.
Back in Santa Clara, TFC subscribers were not only treated to a whole day of fun and rides, to delicious food and to community products and services, they also got to hear the wonderful voice of TFCKat finalists, with Katherine de la Cruz of Mountain House, Calif. winning the top prize.
For the thousands of fans who came, it was not only a chance to celebrate Pinoy entertainment, it was a bigger-than-life experience they will never forget.
