THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The city council has approved a plan to honor the victims of a deadly shooting that took place 8 months ago.
On Tuesday night, the Thousands Oaks city council approved a quarter $1 million plan to build a memorial honoring the victims of the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting.
Last November, a former Marine opened fire at the popular bar, taking 12 lives — including Filipino American college student Alaina Housely.
The memorial will be a healing garden, with 12 stones representing each victim.
It will be built a few miles from the Borderline Grill.
The city council hopes to have it completed by November, in time for the one year anniversary of the shooting.
