A staple in hip-hop culture and in Pinoy pride.
Amidst all the fame and accolades, Apl.de.Ap continues to perform and to give back.
The Black Eyed Peas recently celebrated their 20th year in the music industry, while looking forward to making more music.
The band is currently working on their next album, which the Pampanga-born Apl describes as a party album.
But between the party scenes, the band continues to use their music to raise awareness to social issues.
“Not a lot of people like utilizing music as a platform to create awareness, but this time around we want to use our platform to really point out what’s going on in our society, from police brutality to immigration reform… we’re blessed enough to have a vehicle to use our voice to create change.”
While Fergie has gone on to focus on her solo career, the group is now beaming with more Pinoy pride, the team has acquired Jessica Reynoso from the Voice Philippines.
As they continue to grow their empire beyond music, some members are also looking at other ventures.
Will.I.Am recently released a vegan cookbook, while Apl, Taboo, and Jessica hosted the Los Angeles Clippers Filipino Heritage Night, raising money for the Apl de Ap Foundation.
Its been an amazing 20-year journey for the iconic and diverse group, and fans are surley excited to see, hear, and bounce to the beats of the black eyes peas for years to come.
