TFC’s ‘Star Magic 25’ brings together kapamilya stars with the fans

SANTA CLARA, CA — It was a fan experience like no other. Thousands of fans flocked to California’s Great America last Saturday for The Filipino Channel’s Star Magic 25.

Featuring kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Jodi Sta. Maria, Rayver Cruz, and singers Darren Espanto, Arci Munoz, and Janella Salvador.

With hosts Eric Nicolas and Robi Domingo, and the hottest loveteams: Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

What makes this event one of a kind is that fans actually got to be up close and personal with their idols in various activities throughout the day. They say there’s nothing quite like it.

Liza, Enrique, Eric, Arci, Janella and Jodi joined fans at an early morning “fun run.”

The winners were awarded by Piolo Pascual.

“These are the subscribers that support our shows. As we know, ABS-CBN is all about serving the Filipino and that’s what we’re here for,” he said.

Robi, Rayver and Arci taught fans some moves at a dance workshop…

The stars also shared with fans the importance of giving back, through ABS-CBN Foundation’s “The Good Hour.”

Meanwhile, Xian and Rayver also played with fans in a friendly game of basketball.

“Sobrang special po sa amin dahil hindi lang may show mamaya, may chance na ganito na nakakasama natin ang mga kapamilya natin abroad,” said Cruz.

“Just being back, seeing familiar faces here at Great America — sobrang nostalgic para sa akin,” said Lim.

A singing contest was judged by Darren and Sam.

And of course, there were plenty of photo opportunities with the stars.

“They’re out here in a different country away from the Philippines, working hard for their families — and sometimes all they need is a little something to make them feel at home and that’s what we’re here for,” said Soberano.

“They’re homesick, and for us being here, it just makes them feel at home,” said Gil.

Fans could not get over their close encounter with their idols, and how Star Magic has brought so much joy to their lives.

“It was fun. Ever since I was young I’ve been watching TFC, and I was starstruck to see them in person finally.”

“Masaya ako na nakita ko sila na personal. At saka ako, TFC fan ako!”

“Star Magic brought 25 years of talent and entertainment. So thank you, for coming here to California.”

ABS-CBN and The Filipino Channel plan to hold more events that give fans an experience they will never forget.

“There’s nothing like celebrating the relationship between the stars and the fans,” said Ricky Resurreccion, ABS-CBN Head of Ad sales & Events. “We are trying to blur the lines between that. Talagang abot-kamay, hand in hand sila.”

For these screaming, adoring fans — they simply can’t wait for what’s yet to come.
