DALY CITY, CA The Filipino Channel received a certificate of recognition from the Daly City council recently — not long after ABS-CBN International moved its North America headquarters back to the city where TFC began, 23 years ago.
The certificate of recognition was received by Nerissa Fernandez, TFC global head of PR and corporate affairs.
Fernandez reiterated TFC’s commitment to help make Daly City one of the best places to live in and work in, as well as to help push for diversity in the community.
Daly City Mayor Glenn Sylvester, a Filipino-American, says having TFC back in the city is “an important move.”
“We have to recognize our constituents in Daly City, and part of ABS-CBN coming back we realize that the majority of the population of Daly City are Filipino. We are so happy for ABS-CBN to come back and we say welcome home.,” he said. “…The outreach of the media, information from the Philippines and all throughout the world is broadcast all over, and not just for only Filipinos, but for the entire public. So I really feel that was very, very important because TFC is going to grow.”
