NEW YORK, NY — At the Javitz Center, fans of all ages and places cosplayed their favorite superheroes and villains at the ultimate celebration of super fandom – the New York Comic Con 2017.
Coined in 1984 and popularized in Japan, “cosplay” is short for costume play.
It all started in New York way back in 1939. Cosplay was inspired by a practice known as fan costuming at science fiction conventions.
At this event, Fil-Am cosplayers came to represent at the biggest pop-culture event of the year.
