Stonewall at 50: Filipino LGBTQ community on acceptance, equality and growth of the gay rights movement

June 28th marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York — considered the event which sparked the modern gay rights movement.

Rommel caught up with some Filipino members of the LGBT community in the San Francisco Bay Area, to talk about the impact of the Stonewall Riots and the important role people of color played in such a pivotal moment in LGBTQ rights movement history.
