Sparring day for Pacquiao as fight preps continue

LOS ANGELES – With an uphill run and some fancy footwork, strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune joined Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday morning for a series of agility drills in front of a small crowd gathered at his morning workout.

Just as he runs hard, Manny Pacquiao has been hitting hard.

On Tuesday afternoon it was sparring day for the People’s Champ, splitting eight rounds with his two partners.

Coming out of gym, Pacquiao said his sparring session with the two was good.

Pacquiao had been holding 10 round sparring sessions during the Philippine camp but the team will do eight round sessions as they acclimate to Los Angeles.

The crowds have started gathering at the Pacman’s training grounds, and as the People’s Champion, he entertained the handful of fans outside the Wild Card gym.

Sparring is expected to pick up in the coming weeks and more partners may also jump in the ring with the Pacman as he gets closer to peak condition.
