ORANGE COUNTY — The weather is to blame for the tragic death of a Filipino woman in the Orange County city of Tustin.
34-year-old Dennet Bermas of Tustin, California was killed in her car as she was driving off to work, when the powerful Santa Ana caused a tree to fall on her.
The Santa Ana winds had toppled a eucalyptus tree adjacent to her apartment.
Last week, the wind gusts had reached as strong as 70 miles per hour, in some cities causing officials to raise red flag warnings.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with her funeral expenses.
Reports say that this is the second tree to topple in the complex in the past three years.
