POMONA, Calif. – A Southern California Filipino man convicted of murdering his Filipina wife has been sentenced to life behind bars.

Tomas Infante was sentenced 25 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

He was convicted last month of murdering his wife Charito Tolentino after Infante’s girlfriend had discovered he was married.

After Infante allegedly beat and stabbed Tolentino to death at their home, he then left her body inside a car at a casino parking lot.

He was arrested shortly after she was reported missing.

Tolentino’s relatives were at the sentencing, giving witness impact statements to the judge. They recalled how Charito was a caring and giving registered nurse. They claimed that Infante had gambling and womanizing problems, constantly using words such as evil and monster to describe him.

“Charito will be at peace and she got the justice that she deserved,” the victim’s sister Leticia told Balitang America outside the courtroom.
