SoCal Filipinos ring in the holidays with Santa and Shrek

GLENDALE, Calif. – Santa Claus, Shrek, and Chloe Kardashian kicked off the Christmas season in Sunny Southern California’s Glendale Galleria and the unveiling of the Dreamworks Adventure to Santa interactive house.

The five room-two story tall house lets kids design their own sleigh as they go on a door-to-door hunt for jolly Saint Nick.

It’s pretty cool it’s exciting. I can’t wait to bring my other two kids here,” said Fil-Am parent Ofelia Harkevy who brought her son Jude.

With Christmas about six weeks away, the lavish display is considered early in America but late for Philippine standards where the holidays begin in September. But no matter where Christmas is and what kind of activities there are, for these Filipino families only one thing matters.

“Home is different, it’s more family but it’s almost the same to me,” said Lilia Pagsisigan as she enjoyed the festivities with her daughter.
