SF’s Lumpia Palooza features various styles of the Filipino egg roll

SAN FRANCISCO — Here at the SoMA Streat Food park, hungry people lined up, ready to see what’s delicious and piping hot at this Filipino food festival called “Lumpia Palooza.”

This two-day festival featured over 20 different vendors — all offering their own special take on the popular Filipino snack.

Best friends Tiffany Bonifacio and Jessica Lemus, also known as the Lumpia Ladies, served it up traditional-style.

The Jeepney Guy — which is known for its boneless, crispy pork belly lechon — offered a special dish for the palooza.

But the biggest item at Lumpia Palooza was the Ma Sarap food truck’s $20 super lumpia.

In December, SoMA Streat Food Park will be hosting “Sizzling Sisig,” festival which will feature various vendors and their own takes on this popular Filipino appetizer that’s bursting with flavors.
