Sen. Elizabeth Warren reaches out to Asian American voters

LAS VEGAS — All the national polling for the Democratic presidential race show that the top three contenders are former vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, with Biden as the frontrunner.

But in a new national poll from Monmouth University, Warren and Sanders climbed their way up, with Biden just 1 point behind them — effectively in a three-way tie.

And with the race for 2020 heating up, Warren is turning to the Asian American community for support.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Warren discussed her plans for immigration — among other issues.

Warren wants to decriminalize crossing the border without papers and limit immigration detention. She’s also calling for the expansion of protections for young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers, their families and those with temporary protected status.

When it comes to healthcare, Warren said that dealing with giant pharmaceutical companies could be a challenge because of corruption in Washington.

When it comes to foreign policy, she said she’s worried about President Donald Trump’s alliances with the world’s dictators.
