Sedrick Barefield to play for OKC NBA summer league

While he was not among the 60 players taken in Thursday night’s NBA draft, the basketball journey for Fil-Am athlete Sedrick Bihis Barefield continues.

After working out for several teams in the past few weeks, the University of Utah graduate is reportedly on his way to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“Sportando” reports that Barefield will play for the Thunder’s NBA Summer League team.

The 6-2 Barefield was a Pac-12 first-team selection in his senior year, averaging nearly 17 points per game.

The NBA’s summer league will begin on July 5th in Las Vegas.

PBA and ASEAN basketball league champion coach Jimmy Alapag will also be in the summer league as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings.

Reigning NCAA champion Kihei Clark of the University of Virginia kept close watch on the NBA draft as three of his teammates moved on to the big league.

On his Instagram, Clark rooted on each of his teammates, posting a photo of himself with the three NBA rookies.
