REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Officials in Santa Cruz, Calif. revealed on Thursday the cause of death of the 8-year-old girl allegedly killed by her Fil-Am teen neighbor.

Madyson Middleton, they said, died of asphyxiation and stab wounds to the neck. The coroner had ruled the girl’s death a homicide.
