GLENDALE — It was a fight night for a cause at the Pascual home in Glendale, California, as some San Beda University alumni got together to watch Manny Pacquiao take on Lucas Matthysse.
“It’s like the best thing that can happen, you get to see Manny Pacquiao fight again and then you see old faces enjoy the game it’s great. Good food good company.”
These lions roared through the first 2 knockouts, and the party wrapped up faster than expected — with the final knockout blow in the 7th round.
“He showed us that he’s still got that power,” said Noel Pascual.
For these San Beda alumni, this Pacquiao win is also a big victory for their alma mater.
“We sponsor students that cannot afford to go to San Beda. We take care of that; also some local things we do for the homeless,” says Alex Tamayo.
But Pascual, who’s hosted many pay-per-view Pacquiao fight nights in the past, admits
that with the more affordable broadcasts, the parties are a bit less hyped as before.
The proceeds of the viewing party will be donated to San Beda University.
