Sam Milby pursuing artistic growth in Hollywood, teases new projects

VALLEJO, Calif. – This year, 2015, marks Sam Milby’s tenth year in show business.

As an accomplished star in the Philippines, Sam has been trying to break into Hollywood by auditioning for different pilots while taking acting classes in Los Angeles.

Though he has not scored a role yet, Sam says that he plans to continue chasing after his dream by becoming a better actor.

“Even till now I still get a lot of emails about auditions from LA but it’s really hard to schedule,” said Milby. “It’s something that earlier this year when I stayed in LA it was more for networking, meeting people, and for the classes because it’s a different world here. It’s Hollywood. Also, I want to grow as an actor so when I go back to LA, I want to take more classes from different acting coaches.”

Looking back at his experiences in LA so far, Sam says it’s been worth all his efforts.

“There’s a big demand for different ethnicities for different roles,” said Milby. “It’s a good time to be around, to be Filipino, to be in the diverse crowd. It’s for the experience. For me, if nothing ever happens, just going through the process and meeting the people and doing the auditions I think that alone you learn a lot.”

While breaking into Hollywood is still the goal, Sam is still hard at work with other upcoming projects.

“I do want to get a heads up,” said Milby. “I have a teleserye I got going on later this year on prime time but I can’t give you more details then I have a movie also with Jennylyn Mercado, first time with her. I just wanted to give an update on projects and hopefully an album this year.”

Sam Milby will be in the Chicago area this weekend to continue the celebration of Philippine Independence Day at Piyesta Pinoy in Bolingbrook, Ill.

The best opportunity for growth for Sam Milby is get out of that fruitcake based drama bullshit, it’s time to do some action packed kicking some ass tele-serye or real movie like FPJ, Lito Lapid, Ramon Zamora, etc. Now, every drama based movies are pretty much the same… What people say is this…same shit but different driver…
