The official death toll from Super Typhoon Yolanda has jumped to 5,500.
This is according to the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
Most of the fatalities came from Eastern Visayas at more than 5,100 deaths.
The death toll from the super typhoon is expected to rise further, as 1,757 people remain missing.
But the good news—more help is coming for those who survived the storm.
As of Nov. 25, ABS-CBN Foundation International has raised more than $1.5 million in cash.
Its disaster relief program—Sagip Kapamilya—has so far served more than 125,600 families and distributed 474 tons of relief goods.
