REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The San Francisco Giants’ shut-out victory on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals in Game 5 of the World Series started with a special tribute to late comedian Robin Williams, which included his two Fil-Am children.
Zelda and Cody, Williams’ children from his second marriage to Filipina-Finnish Marcia Garces, joined their older brother Zak at the pitcher’s mound at AT&T Park.
Zak threw the game’s ceremonial first pitch to his father’s long-time friend, comedian Billy Crystal.
A video tribute also played on the scoreboard showing highlights of Williams’ career and his visits to the ballpark.
Williams, who lived in Marin County, died Aug. 11 of an apparent suicide.
