Rising Pinoy boxers to compete in first ever US megabout

SAN CARLOS, Calif. – With every punch they throw and every ounce of sweat they produce in the gym these Pinoy fighters understand the great opportunity they have before them: the chance to represent the future of Philippine boxing in the United States.

The very first promoter in Asia to venture into the U.S., Ala Promotions International together with ABS-CBN and The Filipino Channel proudly bring the maiden edition of the television’s mega boxing series “Pinoy Pride” to the Stubhub Center in Carson city, California on October 17th 2015.

The fight is dubbed the “Philippines vs the World” and it will feature a mega card headlined by the longest-reigning Filipino world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes as he defends his WBO World Jr. Flyweight title.

The undercard will feature three of the most promising Pinoy fighters: Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo and brothers “Prince” Albert Pagara and WBO International Super Lightweight Champion Jason “El Nino” Pagara.

“Very excited to fight here with my brother and there’s a lot of Filipinos there at StubHub,” said Jason.

These young fighters hope to be the next Pinoy boxing superstars.

“That’s my ambition to become like Pacquiao, Donaire, Viloria…that’s my dream,” said Magsayo. “I train hard so I could follow their footsteps.”

As these fighters continue to train hard for their upcoming bouts they also hope for the continued support from their kababayans.

“Please support our fights on October 17th at the StubHub Center in Carson City also please pray for all four us, including Donnie, that we will win our fights on October 17th. Thank you,” said Albert.

“Pinoy Pride 33: Philippines vs the World” will be shown live through The Filipino Channel in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and ABS-CBN Sports in the Philippines.
