Rep. TJ Cox stands in solidarity with affected federal workers in shutdown

In his first House floor speech, newly-elected Filipino-American Congressman TJ Cox shed light on the government shutdown’s impact on struggling federal workers.

“We say we’re a nation that values work and workers. Today, we’re forcing thousands of working men and women to work without pay, because our colleagues in the Senate and the White House won’t do their jobs.”

In solidarity with the federal workers who are being forced to work without pay or go on furlough, Cox has asked the House administrative officer to withhold his pay until the shutdown ends.
