REDWOOD CITY, CA — Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier hosted a town hall meeting attended by hundreds.
Speier said that due to recent mass shootings, stricter gun control measures must be passed. She said the Democratic-controlled House already passed two background check measures back in February — but will these measures get the same support from the Republican-controlled Senate?
“I will not support a watered-down version, but I do believe there is an opportunity here that we haven’t had in a long time,” Speier said. “I am confident that we will take the comprehensive background check bill… but it’s all in the details.”
