REID URGES OBAMA TO PAY FILIPINO VETS LUMP SUM BENEFITS

In his show of support for Filipino WWII Veterans, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave his assurance that he would ask the President Obama to reconsider his previous denial of their lump sum compensation claim.

Thousands of veterans were denied lump sums payments, because their names could not be found on the partially destroyed Missouri list in 1973 from a fire.

The White House has the power to issue orders to authorize government agencies to accept other proofs of military service from veterans to receive their $9,000 and $15,000 benefits.
