LOS ANGELES – A plea deal has been reached in the case of the former professor at a prestigious college, who allegedly took trips to the Philippines to have sex with children.

Former University of Southern California professor Walter Lee Williams appeared in federal court on Friday to plead guilty to traveling to the Philippines to have sex with minors.

Court records show that under the plea agreement, the 65-year-old Williams admits to traveling to Pagadian City in the Philippines and engaging in illicit sexual activity with at least six teenage boys.

The plea says that Williams met two teenage Filipinos online and began forming an online relationship with them in 2010.

He then traveled to the Philippines for three weeks in 2011 to meet the two boys and at least four others.

He engaged in elicit sexual contact with them.

The former anthropology and gender teacher fled to Mexico shortly after authorities began questioning him after an acquaintance alerted authorities.

He was apprehended days after landing on the FBI’s most wanted fugitives list.
