President Trump’s top actions and pronouncements since Election Day

Since his stunning upset on election night, President-elect Donald Trump has been busy constructing his cabinet and making policy pronouncements.

Trump’s transition to the presidency started with an election-night victory speech: “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important to me.”

Since then, the President-elect has seen nationwide protests against his election, met with President Obama at the White House, and started assembling a cabinet of top officials.

Still incomplete, Trump’s team features a mix of career politicians, business leaders, and military officers. While many have supported his selections, others have criticized the group as a whole for lacking diversity and experience.

In addition to collecting cabinet candidates, Trump has also made a plethora of policy pronouncements in the weeks since the election, giving the nation a glimpse into his plans for his first days in office.

One of his top priorities: repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.

“We’re going to be submitting, as soon as our secretary is approved, almost simultaneously, shortly thereafter, a plan,” he said.

Trump says he also wants to nominate a Supreme Court justice, tighten immigration restrictions, and begin construction on a wall along the US-Mexico boarder.

“Mexico in some form, and there are many different forms, will reimburse us, and they will reimburse us for the cost of the wall. That will happen,” he said.

Trump has yet to reveal details on how he’ll accomplish these tasks, but with his transition to the White House almost complete, answers may be on the way.
