Popular tourist spot devastated by Yolanda

One of the tourist destinations devastated by typhoon Yolanda is Coron, Palawan.

Coron Mayor Lara Reyes says at least nine people were killed there.

Reyes says the fatalities drowned or were crushed by their own houses. At least one resident was killed in a landslide.

Authorities still have no contact with six island barangays in Coron.

In one barangay, all 600 houses were destroyed during the typhoon.

At least 11,000 residents are now staying in evacuation centers, and that at least 90% of houses in Coron were damaged.

Mike Miguel, a video editor from Daly City, Calif. was doing a photo shoot in the area when he was caught in the storm.

    I have tears in eyes, when I write this about Coron Plalwan 3 years ago, I had my honeymoon at Coron met some nice people there? They have one of the best tourist destinations in the philippines ! I was planing to go visit with my wife in Dec 2013 ! But I think I’ll wait until year 2015 !
