Poll: 35 percent of caregivers have neglected their own routine health care
A new poll shows that the ones who care for our loved ones may not be caring for themselves.
A new survey by the Associated Press and Norc Center for Public Affairs has found that about a third of caregivers have skipped out on their own health care because of their caregiving duties.
The polls shows that 35 percent of caregivers have skipped routine care, and 33 percent have skipped treatment.
Another 31 percent do not seek medical help when ill or injured as a result of their caregiving duties.
Finances have been cited as one of the reasons for the neglect.
