Political statements, Bruno Mars big wins at the 2018 Grammys

NEW YORK — Fil-Am singer-songwriter Bruno Mars made 24-karat magic at in New York Sunday night, winning the top prizes at the 2018 Grammy Awards, including the most coveted album of the year award for his retro-funk album.

Mars also won awards for record of the year, song of the year, best R&B performance, best R&B album and song — sweeping all six categories he was nominated in.

It was also a night of politics at the 60th annual music awards.

On the red carpet, stars showed their support for women’s equality by wearing white roses.

And on stage, a variety of statements from celebrities supporting immigration and dreamers.

“Just like the dreamers, my parents brought me to this country with nothing in their pockets but hope, they showed me what it means to work twice as hard and never give up and no part of my journey is different from theirs, I’m a proud Cuban Mexican immigrant, born in eastern Havana, standing in front of you on the Grammy’s stage in New York City.”

But the biggest political spoof came from host James Corden.

In a pre-taped parody of “Fire and Fury,” — a book critical of the president – Grammy host Corden auditioned celebrity narrators including John Legend, Cher, and the winning narration went to Hillary Clinton.

US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who was not laughing at the parody tweeted: “I have always loved the Grammys, but to have artists read the Fire and Fury book killed it – don’t ruin great music with trash.”

The book, based on extensive interviews with Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon and other aides, has been dismissed by Trump as “full of lies.”

Who cares…. Trump will be re-elected 2 terms anyway. The Hollywood will continue to hate him for the next 8 years. During Obama’s 2nd term his IRS audited all Tea Party members and tea party tax free organization, they also audit most of Obama haters, and their members. Trump loyalist movements are more dangerous, because mostly veterans, military and the police, they have their master list and history always repeat it self.
