SANTA MONICA, Calif–Police say John Zawahri left a multi-page farewell note showing remorse for killing his father and brother. In his note, he also hoped that his mother was taken care of financially. He did say goodbye to some of his friends, however police say there were no clear motives for his killing spree. Zawahri started out his rampage by shooting his father and brother, then setting their house on fire. He then carjacked a driver while shooting at vehicles and people en route to Santa Monica College. Among the injured was Cristle Fernandez, the wife of a Filipino American. Filipino student Marcel Kahn helped hid 8 people while the gunman made his way into the school library, where Zawahri was eventually killed by police. Police say they havd also found zip guns and replica weapons in his home, and that the US Justice
Department had rejected him for a firearm. A total of 6 people, including Zawahri died during the 13 minute rampage.
