Pinoys take part in anti-Trump protests

HOLLYWOOD, CA —  Filipinos who wished to remain anonymous took part in a protest against President-elect Donald Trump, surrounding his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Protestors are calling for “investigation before inauguration.”

Five weeks away from Trump’s inauguration, activists across the U.S. are on a mission to challenge the electoral college, which elected Trump as the nation’s 45th president, despite Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote.

What we need to is commit to electoral reform, and demand electoral reform,” said one protest leader.

The protests nationwide were led by mostly women’s rights groups.

“We need to investigate why this man is going to be president, when the majority of the country did not vote for him,” said activist Valerie Krupin. “We also have to investigate the rape trials. We can just drop that…as we have daughters we need to tell them it’s not okay.”

While many marched, still others came out in support of the newly-elect President.

“I’ve even met Filipinos out here who support Trump, so everyone around the world have seen a lot of positive,” said Gregg Donovan.

Activists say they will continue taking action and mobilizing as the inauguration fast approaches.
