Pinoy teacher charged in Maryland sex abuse case makes bail

MARYLAND – The Filipino teacher who was arrested in May for the alleged sexual abuse of his elementary school student is currently out on bail.

The Philippine Embassy said Erwin Magnaye was released from the state’s Department of Corrections and now awaits his preliminary hearing.

The 39-year-old Magnaye was accused of inappropriately touching a nine-year-old boy back in 2014.

He is facing charges of sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree assault.
