According to Doctor Gener-Med Acob (NYC Doctor) Filipino seafarers (seaman) should stop crying that no one is advocating for them. In New York, thousands of seamens “jumped ship” and are now living and working under the table there. Acob added he remember his uncle Frederick Astorga, now living in Stockton also jumped ship in New York and wondered in California. Several stories from OFW’s that Filipino seamens when stopping at a given port would victimized Filipinas and easily ran away because of their status as seamen.
