Pinoy Panawagan: DACA/DAPA, immigration court backlog

While the Trump administration has decided to spare hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants from deportation — through a program called DACA — it has eliminated an Obama-era program called DAPA, that would have provided deportation relief to undocumented parents of US citizens and legal permanent residents.

There has also been a massive backlog in immigration courts — over half a million cases and each one, on average, takes almost two years to close.

To talk about these developments and how it will impact kababayans is Pinoy Panawagan counsel Attorney Lou Tancinco, who joins BA via Skype from New Orleans.
